Mic in ubuntu 12.04 LTS

How to fix, Mic in ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

Here you have to find index and port.
Get index number and port description.I am using line in,so i selected "analog-input-microphone" and port assigned 3(index:3)

I given following commands in command prompt, then my mic started working.
